Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your reservation, contract, and use of services provided by Houston Luxe Auto, LLC (“Houston Luxe Auto”, “we”, “us”). By making a reservation you agree to these Terms in addition to the master rental contract you e-sign at booking.

1. Reservations and deposit

A 25% refundable deposit holds the vehicle on our calendar at the time of booking. The balance is charged 72 hours before pickup. Cancellation is free up to 72 hours before pickup; cancellations inside the 72-hour window forfeit the deposit. Wedding-day, prom, and quinceañera bookings have stricter cancellation windows stated in the master contract.

2. Self-drive eligibility

Self-drive renters must be 25 years or older, hold a valid US driver’s license, pass identity verification via Stripe Identity, and provide proof of full-coverage personal auto insurance that extends to non-owned vehicles. A refundable security hold ($2,500–$5,000 depending on the vehicle) runs 24 hours before pickup and is released within 5 business days of a clean return inspection.

3. Texas Motor Vehicle Rental Tax

Self-drive rentals of 30 days or less are subject to a 10% Texas Motor Vehicle Gross Rental Receipts Tax. Chauffeured trips are transportation services and are not subject to this tax. See our tax explainer for details.

4. Damage, mileage, and incidentals

Self-drive rentals include 200 miles per day; additional miles bill at $4 each. Damage discovered at return inspection is captured against the security hold per the schedule in the master contract. Houston Luxe Auto is not responsible for tickets, tolls, or violations incurred during a self-drive rental; these pass through to the renter on the credit card on file.

5. Chauffeured trips

Chauffeured trips include the chauffeur, fuel, standard tolls, bottled water, and $2,000,000 in commercial liability insurance. Standard gratuity is appreciated but not mandatory; suggested gratuity is 18–20% of the base rate.

6. Limitation of liability

Houston Luxe Auto’s total liability for any claim arising from a reservation is limited to the total reservation amount paid. We are not liable for incidental or consequential damages.

7. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas. Disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Harris County, Texas.
