How Much Does a Chauffeur Cost in Houston? (2026 Pricing Guide)

Real Houston chauffeur pricing by service type — hourly black-car, IAH/HOU airport transfers, weddings, and full-day executive. Updated 2026.

May 26, 2026

The first question almost every new client asks: what does a chauffeur cost in Houston? Short answer — anywhere from $85 per airport transfer to $1,200+ for a full-day executive run, depending on the vehicle, hours, and whether it's a chauffeured trip or a self-drive rental. This guide breaks down 2026 Houston-market rates from the dispatch desk of an owner-operated fleet, with the numbers we actually quote.

Quick reference — what you'll pay in Houston (2026)

What's actually included

A few things separate a real chauffeured price from a "cheap car service" Google Ad:

  • Licensed driver, not a 1099 contractor. Our chauffeurs are W-2 employees with TLC-equivalent training, drug-screened, and run through a TSA fingerprint background check.
  • Commercial insurance. Every chauffeured trip carries $2M in liability. Ask any service for their COI before booking — if they hesitate, walk.
  • Flight tracking on airport trips. Your driver knows your inbound flight number, watches gate changes live, and the meter doesn't start until 60 minutes after your wheels-down.
  • Meet-and-greet curbside or inside terminal. IAH lets us escort guests from the gate at no surcharge.
  • No fuel charges, no toll add-ons, no "service fee" at the end. What you quote is what you pay.

What changes the price

There are six levers that move a Houston chauffeured rate up or down:

  1. Vehicle class. A 2024 S-Class is ~30% more than a 2022 Suburban. A Maybach is ~40% more than the S-Class. The Sprinter VIP conference van — wifi, fridge, captain's chairs — is its own category.
  2. Day of week. Friday and Saturday evening hourly rates run $15–$25/hr higher than Tuesday afternoon.
  3. Lead time. Same-day or next-morning bookings can carry a 10–15% urgency adjustment because we may need to deadhead a chauffeur. Anything booked 72+ hours out is at standard rate.
  4. Wait time. First 60 minutes of airport wait is free; after that, $1.50/min on the meter.
  5. Distance outside the loop. Rates assume Greater Houston (inside Beltway 8 + The Woodlands / Sugar Land / Pearland / Katy). Galveston, Brenham, College Station get a flat per-mile add.
  6. Vehicle return location. Round-trip and one-way are priced the same — we just deadhead back.

Hourly chauffeur pricing in detail

Hourly chauffeur (a.k.a. "as-directed") billing is how Houston buys most of its corporate transportation. The chauffeur is yours for the booked block — they wait, hold the door, follow your itinerary.

  • 3-hour minimum on weekdays, 4-hour minimum on Friday / Saturday nights.
  • Garage-to-garage billing: the meter starts when the chauffeur leaves dispatch and ends when they're back at the garage. For a Galleria pickup that's typically 30 min on each side.
  • Standard tip is 18–20% of the base. Charged separately so you can adjust.

A typical Houston business-dinner block: 3.5 hours of an S-Class, garage-to-garage, ~$425 + 20% gratuity = $510 all-in.

Wedding chauffeur pricing in detail

Wedding rates are quoted as 5-hour all-inclusive packages, never hourly. Why: the day always runs over, you don't want to be watching a meter, and the vehicle is dressed (white-glove chauffeur, ribbon ties, complimentary champagne) at no surcharge.

See our full Best Wedding Cars in Houston post for vehicle-by-vehicle comparison. Sample packages:

  • Rolls-Royce Phantom EWB, 5 hr, white-glove chauffeur, champagne, ribbon — $2,995
  • Bentley Mulsanne EWB, 5 hr, same inclusions — $1,995
  • Mercedes-Maybach S-Class, 5 hr, same inclusions — $1,495
  • Sprinter Shuttle (16-pax), 5 hr, hotel ⇄ venue ⇄ afterparty loops — $895

Wedding-day weekend (Friday after 3pm through Sunday) carries a $200 weekend surcharge across the board.

Chauffeured vs self-drive — when does each make sense

Chauffeured is the right answer when:

  • You don't want to drive in Houston traffic, especially at the Galleria during the holidays
  • You're hosting guests / clients and want the white-glove experience
  • The vehicle is a Rolls-Royce or Maybach — these are designed to be ridden in, not driven
  • Alcohol is involved
  • You want flight tracking, meet-and-greet, and a single point of contact

Self-drive is the right answer when:

  • You specifically want to drive the vehicle (most exotic rentals are this)
  • You're on a multi-day trip and need flexibility
  • You're 25+ with full-coverage insurance and a clean driving record

For chauffeured we don't add the 10% Texas Motor Vehicle Rental Tax — chauffeured trips are transportation services, not vehicle rentals. See our Texas tax explainer for why.

Three ways to lock in a lower price

  1. Book 7+ days out. Same-day urgency fee disappears.
  2. Book Sun-Thu. Weekday hourly rates can be 15% lower than Sat night.
  3. Use the Sprinter for group transfers. A 14-passenger Sprinter at $245 to River Oaks beats five $115 sedans = $575.
